Cory on MTV

Tonight the commercial Cory shot last week will be airing on MTV during the VMA show. It is a promotional for MTV 3 and Cory will be in the background dancing. On Monday the "View" show we taped will be airing. Then on Tuesday we will be on the "View" again, but this time it will be live. So, September 4th and 5th look for us on the "View." The Sopranos episode we were in won't be on T.V. until next March. To get ready for season 6 Cory and I have been watching all of the episodes to get us caught up by the time we are on. We just finished the second season tonight.

Squirrel Watching

Cory and I love squirrels. Okay...I really like them, but Cory really does love those little guys. He watches them outside our window every day and he told me he finds himself thinking alot about squirrels during the day. I think that before we have children we will get a squirrel. If we can tame a wild animal then we are ready for kids! Cory and I were walking through the park and couldn't help but notice that one of the squirrels was trying to get our attention. They are so cute.
In other news...I slept for 12 hours last night. I have no idea why I was so tired. We'll see if I can get to sleep tonight. Tomorrow morning at 8am Joe will be coming over to sleep at our house until he has to go back to work at 3pm. He works at a 24 hour restaurant in Manhattan and it makes more sense for him to come over and sleep at our house then to travel all the way back to his house in Brooklyn. My plans for tomorrow include: doing laundry, going to the post office, picking up my paycheck, going to the bank, and going to my first tutoring session with an NYU student taking pre-calculus. It is strange not having to go back to schoool. I am really enjoying myself knowing everyone else is going back to school whether it is for work or education. I haven't had time away from school since I was 3 years old. I made my first attempt at making chili tonight. I bought dried bean in the bulk isle at my work because they looked so good. I don't have a crock pot here so I made it on the stove. I think it tastes pretty good, but we will see how Cory likes it. You know who makes a great chili? Lyle Bruce does. He makes everything great but I kept thinking about how to get my chili to taste like his. Hey Lyle, can you give me some pointers? Cory loves your chili.

Monday!!!

Sorry, I haven't blogged for a while. I have been hard at work. Today was my first day off in 5 days. On Saturday I worked 10 hours because I filled in for a girl that quit. From now on I am scheduled to work four days a week.

This picture is of Cory on our way to the market in the rain on Saturday.

How do you like my new furniture? Is it a bit much?
Crazy buildings in Manhattan.
Cory and I are in the lobby of the W hotel. It is a nice place to hangout and eat cookies and apples.

I am the Rookie!

Here is Cory as he stepped in door getting back from the MTV shoot on Tuesday. He heard it will be airing on MTV 3 during an awards show next year.

I love my new job at Integral Yoga Natural Foods! If you get a chance you should check out the website and click on "about us" to learn about the store and its history. It is very unique. Today was my second day work learing the ropes in the store. It is a lot of fun being around cool people and all the good food. Everyone is very nice. I am still a rookie so I don't feel comfortable bringing my camera to work, but when I do I will take pictures so you can have a visual of my work. I will be working four days a week. Another nice thing about work is everyday the yoga institute makes lunch for the workers and it is awesome food.

Our New Gigs

Cory got called from Central Casting last night for work today. This is the same casting agency that called him for the Law and Order casting call. Since 6am this morning Cory has been on location at the Marquee Club on 10th Avenue shooting an MTV promotional video. He called on a break and said that all they have been doing is dancing for hours. He is still not home and it is after 4pm. Today, I went to my first spinning class at Gold's Gym and I handed out all my passes for the week.

Good news...I found out yesterday that I got a job working at a really cool natural foods store that Cory and I go to alot. It is called Integral Yoga Natural Foods. I will be working the organic and vegan deli/smoothie counter. I get a 25% discount in the store and all of the yoga classes I want. I start training tomorrow morning. I am so excited.

Usher and some other things

Nothing to exciting to report. Unless you are a big Usher fan! For details click on this text to take you to our updated celebrity sightings.

In other news...Cory's friends left for Washington D.C., I did laundry today, I learned how to make thai peanut sauce (Cory's favorite and he actually told me he loves me 12% more now since I can make it for him!), so I made my version of pad thai tonight and lastly, I finished another book this weekend! Everything is Illuminated is the title. Cory will read it next and then we are going to watch the movie. I was so happy to discover it was made into a movie in 2005 because it is a great book.

From the West to the East

More travelers have come our way. Brian, Pat, and G-Rad are on a 30 day road trip. They will be staying in Manhattan until Sunday. We all ate dinner at Mamoun's! Then we went to Pier 63 to soak in the view.

Mother Courage

August 17th

Today is our two month anniversary! Our day started at 6:30am so we could go wait in line for tickets to Mother Courage and her Children. It is a free play in Central Park but you have to wait in line for ever since everyone wants a ticket. They don't give out tickets until 1pm so we brought our beach chairs, books, and plenty of food for the wait. Joe Sousa plays a soldier in the play along with the star, Meryl Streep. These are the best pictures we got becuause we were far away and we weren't even supposed to be taking pictures. We really enjoyed the play, but because we got up so early I wanted to fall asleep during the play. Afterwards we went out to celebrate Joe's birthday!

Jackson Hole

Cory taking a break from working on the movie to flash me a smile!
We ate dinner at Jackson Hole tonight thanks to Lindsey and Carol (a bridal shower gift). Instead of ordering their famous 7oz beef burger we both had the vegiburger!!!

Fountain of Youth

These pictures are just what it looks like...Annie in a huge fountain pool. You can't tell but it was made for people to be in, but no one else seems to be enjoying it with me. It is a great place to cool off your feet. As of today, I am working for Gold's Gym. In exchange for me handing out 500 free passes a week, I get free gym membership and unlimited tanning. We will see how it goes. It is for their new gym down in the financial district. Which means I have to go down there to hand out flyers. They have another gym on 54th that I can go to also. Today, Cory has been hard at work on "Wraith".

Look who I spotted!

On my way home I spotted our neighbor. I know...I could very easily try and talk to her, but I think it is funner this way.
Cory and I went to a free Ben and Jerry's milkshake tasting and they had an elaborate set up. This is what I would look like in a cartoon!

Kangol, Lime Leaf, Travelers

On Friday Cory found some good finds at some thrift shops around town. He found a Mathnet book. I didn't even know they made books. Even if no one else remember Mathnet I know my Uncle Keith will! Cory also found two old Star Wars glasses. We have a pretty good collection of cool glasses which are mainly deco ones from the 50s but we have the Star Wars and a Muppet Babies one. Also, he found a mint condition Big E Levis jacket. We will certainly be putting it on Ebay. Cory, Joel and I walked to the UWS. We
ate dinner at Lime Leaf, a Thai restaurant. We loved it! On the way back home we discovered a multitude of restaurants we would like to try. So, we will be back to the UWS. We had a cupcake at Buttercup Bakeshop to compare their cupcakes to Billy's and Magnolias. Boy, was it delicious. We stopped in Columbus circle to take a picture and to show you are new hats. It is hard to see mine but it is an authentic, old Kangol. Today I slept alot to try and make up for the crazy week. Standing next to the giant chic is Michael Lovans (Cory's friend from high school) and his girl friend Meredith Hines who are just arrived in the city. They are staying the night before they go off to the Hamptons to shoot a movie for three weeks.

Night Two of the Sopranos

Day two of the taping of the Sopranos started at 2:30pm at the holding area in Noterdame High School on 13th Avenue. We checked in and got into wardrobe. Today they gave Cory a hat to wear. Then we were called to the set which was on top of the Gansevoort hotel.
This hotel is awesome! Rooms start at $435 and we will probably never go up to the top again. It has 360 degree views of the city. Not a bad place to be getting paid to hang out. Cory and I were seperated for part of the day because when they tell you to move you have to do it. I spent an extremely long time holding a martini glass filled with water and a slice of lemon peel. It was so cool being on set because it was like we were really at the club having a good time. Except no one was getting drunk because all of the drinks were fake. Cory got to spend the whole time on set but I got moved to downstairs to wait to be called. So, I made friends with some of the other extras. The funnest people to
hang out with were the "Wise Guys." Papa Frank would have liked to hang out with all of the Italian men. I was one of the few extras that got to go into the craft servies trailer. It has so many different kinds of snacks. They even had a tray of cupcakes. I went for the apricots, pears, and Bear Naked Granola. Cory has the best chance of getting face time from the party scene! We will see next March! It is episode #2. Cameras and camera phone were prohibited from the set but cory snuck a couple pictures in. Who is that in the door way? Can you see my fake cocktail. In that scene I was just to the left of the door. We had the greatest time! I didn't even mind that we worked all night long. No joke! We got to go home at 5am in the morning and we were in bed at 6am. I woke up at 12pm to get ready for work. I worked from 2:30 to 6:30 as a demo girl for V&V premium energy drink. "Hi, would you like to try V&V? It is a new energy drink. Okay, berry or citrus. It has vitamin C, B vitamins, ginseng and ginko..." You get the idea. Then from 7 to 10 I was at the yoga place! After that Cory, Joel and I went to get a falafel at Mamouns and went to Magnolias for a cupcake. It was the best cupcake I have had in New York. I will tell you what exciting things Cory did today at a later time. For now I am off to bed.

The Sopranos

We are extras on the Sopranos! We heard about the gig from Craigslist about how they needed background work for two scenes. The first is a movie premier and the second is the after party. So, casting call was at 9:30am. We checked in, filled out paper work, got approved my hair and wardobe (The shirt I am wearing was supplied by the wardrobe as they thought my shirt was too conservative). We are playing the young, hip, New York types in the audience. Then we spent the day in a movie theatre. We were either in the theatre where the scene was or in the holing theatre waiting for the whole day. I got really lucky and my seat in the theatre was switched from way in the back to right behind the Tony Soprano and Carmela. So, I spent the day listening to the Soprano cast talking to eachother. Cory kept switching seats and ended up near the front in the end. The day was almost 14 hours long! A lot of waiting and staring at the blank movie screen. We got called to come back for the Wednesday shoot and agreed. Ten minutes later Cory got a call to be on "Law and Order" but declined because he had already committed to the Sopranos. Call time for the Wednesday shoot is at 2:30pm and probably will last all night long. But, the shoot is on roof of the Gansevoort Hotel. Which is a place Cory and I have wanted to go for some time. I hope we can stay awake!

Reebok Party and Joel

On Monday, Cory and I went to the Reebok party that was called "I am What I am." It was held in a huge shoe store to celebrate their new fall Reebok line. We hung out, drank vitamin water, and received a gift bag full of free stuff. Joel Bentley (brother of Jordan and Ashley) is in town staying with us while he explores the Big Apple. This picture is of Cory and Joel playing foosball on Pier 63.

My new do

Today I had my hair cut and colored by Fabio (guest stylist from Toronto who I believe to be straight). It was a hair seminar to teach other stylists about the trends of 2006. I was a model for the TechnoNature trend. Can you see how my hair blends technology and nature? My hair cut feels great and the color looks best when I have it up (Cory's opinion). Not only do I have a trend hair do but I ate great food all day and I got paid $200 bucks for being a presentation model. Some of the other girls did not get paid but I had to do a special walk in front of the guests. Cory did PA work all day for the same guy he worked for a few weeks ago. I was Cory's substitute for the "Onion" tonight! I have a busy day tomorrow. I have 3 interviews and a party to go to.

Downtown

On Saturday Cory was working for the "Onion" newspaper. They are making videos for the internet site. The "Onion" for those of you who do not know, is a weekly newspaper

made in Manhattan. All of the news articles are made up and really funny. We also love the Onion because it keeps us up-to-date with all of the activities (actual) of the week. I spent the whole day exploring Manhattan. I started of at Ground Zero then I went to Battery Park. The first picture you see is of New Jersey. Then I went and watched all of the crazy tourists standing in a mile long line to go see the Statue of Liberty. I think I had a pretty good view. Don't you. I love the
addition of the sunglasses to the Statue. I ran into the Hoop it Up, 3 on 3 games going on. I took the picture for Ross because he would have loved it. Then I made my way up Manhattan stopping at a million places until I go home! It is Sunday afternoon and all morning I was at the hair studio. I will probably post the "Annie's new hair" blog tonight after Cory has seen me.

Love Birds in Manhattan

Tyler and Greg came over to our apartment. Tyler and I met at FPU our freshmen year while playing basketball! They are in town for their one year anniversary. The four of us walked down 9th to Chelsea market then we went to the villages and ended at Canal Street. Down on Canal the street vendors are all of you to buy their knock-off sunglasses and watches. So, we didn't stay to long!
We ran into Rachel Ashwells Shabby Chic Store! It was fun browsing around. It felt like I was home! Except for the ridiculous prices on things.
I didn't know I had a tree in Manhattan but I guess I do.

¿La Chica Loca?

I would like you to meet..."The Lady Upstairs". Or, I sometimes like to refer to her as "The Crazy Lady." The deal with her is that whenever we see her she is always wearing the same thing. Is it her costume? Does she have a whole closet full of the same outfit like a superhero would? If she only has the one outfit then how can she wash it?
The other thing about her is whenever she goes outside she heads down 30th to find the first person she can that will give her a cigarrete (she also has a strange voice). She finally stopped asking us. When she finds a cigarrete she literally runs home. I know it sounds weird, but I have seen her do it many, many times. I have tried to follow her a few times to see if she goes to a weird cult or has a job but I loose her in the crowd if she doesn't find someone by our house but she usually finds one pretty quick. We also think she is on meth. I will be trying to get more pictures on different days just in case you don't believe me. All I have to do is when I see her leave I wait on the porch for a minute until she comes back then I snap away (trying to pretend like I am not just taking pictures of her). What do you think? How does she make money? We don't dare go upstairs to her room. I just have so many questions I want to ask her but I can't do it. Here is a picture of our stoop!
