The City Bakery

The City Bakery is located on 18th Street and 5th Avenue. Cory and I have been walking by and admiriing the wonderful treats but today was the day that we took part. We heard
about the bakery because of their hot chocolate and homemade marshmallows. While in line to buy the hot chocolate they brought out a tray of fresh from the oven chocolate chip cookies that swayed me from the hot chocolate. It was delicious.

Park Slope

Yesterday, Cory and I traveled to Park Slope in Brooklyn. We went and walked through the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. We weren't planning on going today even though we have heard good things about the place but we were right in front and noticed that the was free admission for the winter. It was a winter wonderland. I felt like I was walking through a snow covered secret garden high up in the mountains. I definitely will be going backt to see what the gardens look like when things are growing but it was a wonderful walk. I wanted to have my picture taken in front of the rose garden. I even took a picture of the rose garden from above and I can't wait to take another picture in the spring. The creek that runs through the park was frozen!
After the garden we continued to walk through Park Slope (one of the nicest neighborhoods in Brooklyn). We went to the coffee shop where two of Cory's friends work at and we had quiche and green tea. While talking to his friends Cory found out that Joe Sousa had to go to the hospital last night. He works as a doorman and was retrieving luggage from a limo when the limo drive unknowingly slammed the door on his head. To make a long story short...Joe has a staple in his head but will recover, his work is covering all of the medical bills and will be suing the limo company. We found a bag full of clothes in front of a house in Park tht contained a Dolce and Gabbana bra. I feel fancy in expensive bras! Don't worry, we are protected. The nice state (the state that feels that they have enough kids and aids) of New York now gives away condom's with their own logo on them. Could you imagine if all of the states started doing this. Instead of quarters everyone could collect condoms!

Snow Day

A snow storm finally came to Manhattan today. In the picture Cory is standing on our snow covered steps. Look at the message that I found outside. What could it mean? Cory and I really enjoyed the novelty of the snow. It is hard to walk around in the slush but it looks like root beer flavored shaved ice and it reminds me of summer in Lemoore.
We went to the Columbia campus today. We had to pick up money that we made from completing a survey. It is a beautiful campus. You can see the snow in the picture of the snow covered campus. Snow had even fallen down in the subway station.
Cory took me to out to dinner for Valentines Day at my favorite Thai restaurant. Yum Yum.

Rick The Ruler

Friday night we went to Slick Rick's concert. It was at the "Knitting Factory" and we arrived early so we had some tea at a diner. Cory noticed the incredibly large icicles on the store front. I have never seen real icicles like this. Cory is looking fierce with his dagger made of ice.
Pigeon John was the first opener of the night. He is my favorite. We saw him in Fresno a year ago. Then the "Skull Snaps" performed. I was pleasantly suprised with how good they were. Then Rick the Rule performed. He put on a great show. It was one of the best concerts I have been to. There were however a roudy crowd, but it just added to the show.

Baby Girl

I am sorry for my lack of blogging in case anyone noticed. Everything is going great over here except it is really cold. Our high temperatures are Lemoore's low temperatures. One excuse I kind of have is that I am having a lot of trouble with my computer because it overheats easily and quickly (Cory did the research and he found out that my dell laptop is known for this) but also we just haven't been out too much. When we are outside it is hard to take pictures because your hands will freeze if they aren't in really thick gloves.
Anyways, I just got an email for Allyson, my new Sister-in-Law. She sent baby pictures! She is going to be so cute? I don't know if there is a name picked out yet but what do you think about Annie Jr or Daisy Jr?
