Like Father, Like Daughter

For the most part everyone that meets Bee says she looks just like Cory. I think they are right! The other day Cory noticed that he was wearing similar color pants to Bee so I took some "twin" pictures! When Cory sticks out his belly they look exactly alike!

"Touch Daddy's nose!"
Jumping his fun with daddy.
Cory and Bee left the house a minute before I did and when I caught up to them I couldn't believe what I saw. Bee was walking down our block by herself! (Cory was right with her) I'm usually pushing her in the stroller or carrying her but this for the first time it was like running into my daughter on the street! It is so cool seeing her walk. Now she loves to walk around the block!
We went to the Brooklyn Museum and walked around all of the fun art!
Bee is signing "book."
Tooth update: Two of the three new molars have started to appear above the gum lines. It's nice to see progress with her teeth because it helps to justify all of the pain/grumpiness Bee has been dealing with! Hopefully Bee will be feeling better today!

Bird Watching In Central Park

We took Bee to the zoo in Central Park! It is now my favorite zoo!
The rainforest is amazing! The animals are free to move and fly around. As you walk you have to make sure you don't hit a bird or get hit by a flying bird! It's so fun! Bee love it too! We wish Bee's Uncle Nate and Aunt Meg were here because they love birds!

It was fun to watch the sea lions because you could get really close to them!
Bee's biggest cat she has ever seen!
Bee loves her teddy bears and these two polar bears are her first live bears she has seen!
Bee walked everywhere with her daddy!
A really neat part of this zoo is the Children's Zoo! There are many interactive things for the kids to do and the ground is paved with a spongy type material! We will be coming here a lot this year!
Bee saw so many birds and ducks at the zoo. I was amazed at all the unique types!

I just noticed that Bee and this Alpaca seem to be wearing a similar hat!
Dr. Mcauliff where are you? Dr. Mcauliff was mine and Cory's orthodontist back in California!

Bee and the birds! Bee's current way to sign "bird" is by placing one finger on her mouth.

15 Month Old Baby Bee

Bee turned 15 Months old on the 13th of this month! Bee wanted to sit in the grown up chair for her picture! She even went to her closet and picked this dress out herself! They grow up so fast! Pretty soon she will be putting on makeup and shaving her legs!
A 15 month old has a really good life except for the teething pain. She is getting 3 molars at once and it is no fun. This picture was taken Saturday night around midnight because Bee woke up in pain and couldn't go back to sleep for a few hours. She insisted on eating her yogurt from the container and I obliged her.
Sue Rock held a "Sewing for Haiti" event this past Monday. Tons of people came out to make clothes to send to Haiti. We were working on wrap skirts. I was working on sorting the fabric.
Outside we were sorting the fabric to be cut and sewn into skirts.
The place was filled with volunteers!
A met a lot of people from the neighborhood. This is Nora! There were about a dozen ladies sewing the skirts!
Sue Rock!
Bee received a package in the mail today from her Mimi and Papa. She is modeling the dress that Mimi made and her new shoes! Thank you Mimi and Papa!!!
Video of Bee looking at her new book! Mimi and Papa made a book just for Bee! It has pictures of them with animals! Bee loves it!

Kale wins!

Amy and I went to our weekly visit to the Children's musuem. We couldn't resist putting the girls in their matching "Mimi" outfits! I like all of the fake trees inside the museum!

"How does your garden grow?"

Baby Bee has grown so fast! When I first started taking Bee to the museum she could only look!

Kale is my favorite!
Question? What is Kale?
Answer! A dark leafy green vegetable!
Bonus!!! It is one of the best vegetables for you!
How: I like to eat it raw, steamed, sauteed, juiced, and dehydrated. But my favorite...
My friend Amy's own "Kale Chips!"
Her Kale Chips are dehydrated with maintains the ability to call it "raw" and coated with one of the amazing sauces that she has perfected!

Kale info from wikipedia.org

Nutritional value

Kale is considered to be a highly nutritious vegetable with powerful antioxidant properties; kale is considered to be anti-inflammatory.[2]

Kale is very high in beta carotene, vitamin K, vitamin C, lutein, zeaxanthin, and reasonably rich in calcium. Because of its high vitamin K content, patients taking anti-coagulants such as warfarin are encouraged to avoid this food since it increases the vitamin K concentration in the blood, which is what the drugs are often attempting to lower.

Kale, as with broccoli and other brassicas, contains sulforaphane (particularly when chopped or minced), a chemical believed to have potent anti-cancer properties.[3]

Here is Bee trying the "Kid Kale" for the first time! She loves it! It tastes like yummy cheesy junk food and it is totally good for you and it's vegan and raw!
Amy has her kale chips in many healthfood and other specialty shops around Brooklyn and Manhattan and she just started selling on Etsy. You can now get them delivered to your door! Check it out!
Bee and I went and got a tour of Amy's new Kale Chip factory/Art Studio. Currently the kale chips are still being made at their New York Naturals Health food store in Park Slope. The factory is only a few blocks away from my house!

Bee pushed Gaia arond on the horse! Right now it is the best place to ride!

Art is all around us

Bee and I went to Amy and Gaia's house this afternoon! The girls got to try on their new matching outfits! They were made by Bee's Mimi! Thank you Mimi! You are so great! Check out Mimi's latest blog about her new sewing machine. I can't wait to see what fun things she will make with it!

The outfits are reversible!
Bee giving Gaia a kiss!
We got the girls all set up to finger paint but little Bee got a few seconds in and she had enough! She is signing "all done" to me.
Gaia made a piece of art! Her mom is an artist too! Look at Bee in the background. She wanted to play with Gaia's fun toys!
Bee's first pictures! I helped her steady the camera but she clicked this 3 pictures!

Bee is so cool! She likes to put on her sunglasses and she asks me to put this sweater on her whenever she sees it. I think she likes it because it is soft.
Ryan, Cory, Bee and Alex. Alex was in town for the holidays. His parents flew from Germany to meet him and his sister in NY (his sis lives in Manhattan). We showed him around our neighborhood!
