Family Time

Mallory and I made it to Hanford at 12:30 am Thursday night after a long drive from San Diego.
Friday morning I had breakfast with Marlene and Lyle.

I went to Grandma Lois' house for a visit before I headed off to Lemoore.

I got to see Melissa Coulter's baby girl for the first time. Her baby (Tessa) was born the day before our wedding.
I had lunch with Grandma Asta and Papa Tom. Then, I went to my Dad's house to see him along with Jill, Melissa and Jason.

I went to Grandma Peggy's house to visit and also to shower and change. Shelley helped me get "big hair".

My older brother Philip married Allyson Luis. I found our that her dad is a cousin of Joey Luis who was my dad's best man in his wedding in 1972. It is a small world. The wedding was in the same church that Cory and I got married in and I hadn't been there since. It was fun being back because this time I just had to watch. At my wedding, we forgot to take a big family picture so we made sure we did this time. This picture is of the Secondo Family (my mom's side). We also took a family picture with everyone but my camera's picture did not turn out.

The reception was at the Vineyard Inn's Wine Cellar. The reception was beautiful and there was good food and a lot of fun people. Just in case you need captions to the pictures...

Saturday night we went to watch cousin Ross play basketball. He is following in my foot steps, playing basketball at Fresno Pacific University. Click here to see he bio on the FPU website.

Today (Sunday) I went to church with my Dad and Jill. After church I went and to visit with my brother Tommy at his new house (he moved in the house in July). His dog's name is Rosco and he is a lot of fun to play with.

Then, I picked up Kristian Bringard (I have known Kristian since we were little and he is one of Cory's best friends), went to Lyle and Marlene's house, then we went to the Thomas' house for a belated birthday party for me. I will put those pictures up later.

Annie's Still In San Diego

Apparently, I am a horrible person to sleep with. This is the first thing that Mallory pointed out to me after she woke up. When I talked to Cory this morning he agreed and said that he slept more soundly than he has in a long time. What am I supposed to do. I am a very inconsiderate person when I am a sleep. Either, I am very loudly grinding my teeth or I am kicking, kneeing, and/or stealing the sheets. I don't like the life I lead when I am sleeping. I will need to make up for this by being even better while I am awake. Maybe then will my friends and husband not hate me.

After lunch Mallory headed off to class and my friend Molly (She was my best friend in Junior High who now lives in San Diego) picked me up and we went to Starbucks for a chat. I love catching up with old friends.

Then she dropped me off so I could watch Mallory perform a scene in one of her theater classes. I found a green chair that I liked. So, of course I had to take a picture of it. I have "chairs" on my brain because Cory and I have recently been admiring some really cool chairs in a store on Broadway that we would like to buy.

Mallory was really good in her scene. I almost started to cry because she was getting so emotional.

My luggage finally arrived. I found two surprises. The first surprise was a front pocket filled with my smooshed deodorant. The other, 2 out of a 3 piece Pyrex bowl set was shattered to pieces (The little bowl survived). There was a fragile sticker on the lugguge but apparently Jet Blue was not careful enough.

Now, Mallory and I are getting ready to go eat dinner before we hit the road. I am hoping to be in Hanford by 1am. I am already tired from jet lag but I will not let that stop me from having a great time being home.

Tonight, back in Manhattan Cory is performing a few songs at a party. His friends are leaving for Africa so they threw another party to raise money and say "goodbye." I wish I could be there, but the timing just didn't work out.

Annie's in San Diego

I am in San Diego at Mallory's house. It is weird being back in California. I am not used to the wide open spaces both outside and inside. Mallory's bedroom is bigger than our apartment.

It was a long day of traveling, especially since my original flight was canceled, so I had to change my flight. The flight I got on went very smoothly. In fact, it went so smoothly we arrived an hour ahead of schedule, but we had to sit in the plane for 30 minutes because there was not an open terminal. The wait wasn't so bad. Bad is waiting as everyone else gets there luggage except you. Jet Blue misplaced my luggage along with the other people's luggage who changed their flight like me. They said it should be here tomorrow. That is why you should always keep necessary objects in your carry on luggage. I have clean underwear and my retainers. What else does a girl need?

Happy Birthday To Me

Yesterday was my 26th Birthday. Cory got me a rare black squirrel. Except we will have to go visit him in the park.

For my birthday I wanted to hit the town and check out some new restaurants. Cory did some research and picked some for us to try. Our first stop was at "Dojo West," located on West 4th Street. The menu was full of things I wanted to order but we
both ended up ordering breakfast. Cory had eggs with brown rice and I had the banana pancakes. For lunch we ate at the "Cosmic Cantina." It is an organic Mexican food place. Cory had a burrito and I had the vegan plater.

It was a beautiful day but it started to get chilly so we went in to ABC Carpet and Home to browse around. I had never been in the store before and it has a lot of neat things to look at (and purchase, if you're a Rockefeller).

Then, we had to get home because I had to get changed so I could travel to the Upper East Side for a tutoring appointment. After the tutoring session Cory and I met Joe and Jen at "Moon Cake Foods." This restaurant got the best overall rating in the city of New York (Best food, best bargain, best service, best unknown spot, etc.) and they definitely deserve it. Everything was perfect. The place wasn't crowded, the atmosphere was friendly, and the menu was full of remarkably affordable entrees.

Then the four of us hopped on the subway to make it to the 11pm Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre for some late night comedy. After the show we played a two-on-two pool game right around the corner from our appt. Cory and I won. I only made one ball in. So, I guess Cory was the real winner.

Then, we walked Joe and Jen to the subway. It was sure a fun filled day.

I will be in California tomorrow! I am flying in to San Diego and I will be staying with Mallory until we drive home late Thursday night. I can't wait to see everyone. I hope I get to see everyone. I guess everyone should be able to get a hold of me to find out where I am.

Improv and My New Hair

From 7am to 2pm I was at the Wella Studios in Rockefellar Center getting my hair done.

Fabio (The Canadian hairdresser who did my hair back in August) was back to do another show and I was one of his hair models again. This time, he color corrected my roots and added more color to the dark parts of my hair and he gave me a new cut. I was glad to have Fabio do my hair again. He told me he would be back in March to do another show, so I will look forward to getting my hair done yet again.

After the hair show, I had to get home to eat and change because I had to perform in my first improv show (I have been taking an improv class).

Cory and I ate dinner at "Taco Fresca," which is right around the corner from our apartment. It was our first time, but we will be going back alot. We both ordered their fresh made torillas with black beans. I tried making homemade tortillas once in college but they were inedible. "Taco Fresca," makes them just right.

Tonight was the graduation show for my improv 101 class at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. I had so much fun in the class because I made new friends and the teacher was really good.

I was very nervous tonight, but it turned out to be a good show. Cory and Joe were there to support me. The class was divided into two groups of seven. My group went first. Then an audience member gave a suggestion (my group's was "gingivitus"). Then four members of our group did a short monlogue about what "gingivitus" reminds them of and then our sketches were to be based on these monologues. Cory took pictures and he also captured 2 video. It is a video of my first improv sketch.

Remember, this is improv so none of it is planned or scripted. After the show, we all went out together.

Roller Derby

It was another beautiful day in the city. Cory and I went rollerblading down to Battery Park then we went back through the city on Broadway.
Fall is in the air. Cory took a picture of me surrounded by the beautiful trees. I can't wait to see what Central Park will look like when all of the trees have started to change colors.

Here is a picture of the Merchant Marine's Memorial in Battery Park. Battery Park is where you get on a ferry to take you to the Statue of Liberty. I have not been out to Ellis Islind since I was a little girl visiting New York with my family. I had so much fun counting the steps as we made our way to the top of her crown. You can't go up in the Statue any longer, so I don't plan on going back at all.



Here is another New York type picture that Cory took. New York has great hot dogs. I prefer the tofu dogs, but there is nothing like the real thing.

Down by City Hall we saw a group of parole officers on strike. I thought about how if I was going to go around in a circle all day, I would like to have my roller blades on. I would never get tired.

The last picture is of me eating a falafel sandwich at a restaurant called Chickpea (we went here on Lyle and Marlene's reccomendation). Do you like my shirt? It is my rollerblading shirt because it keeps me warm and most important it has padding all along the arms in case I join the "roller derby."

October 31st

For Halloween, we went walking around the city checking out all of the people in costumes. It seems that everyone in New York was out and in a costume. Even the clock tower in Madison Square park got into the action. There is a huge Halloween parade that runs from Spring Street to 23rd on 6th Avenue. We couldn't even get very close because of all the people. Fortunately the people are holding very tall things so everyone can see. Like the huge skeleton I took a picture of. We didn't get dressed up but if I was going to, I was going to be a "mobster".
