Coney Island and Aimee Bray

Aimee is back in Hanford. I miss her already! Yesterday, I got to exprience my first New York Blackout. I was at work on the computer when the electricy went out. I heard rumors that all of Manhattan lost power so I jumped on a bus to head home. It turned out that only about 40 blocks on the upper east side lost electricy. I was glad because everything does shut down without it. Tomorow we are going on a class trip on a cruise around Manhattan. I decided to stay at my current school that I work at for the next school year. I am excited!

Aimee, her mom and nana ready to watch the show.

I went with Aimee, her mom and nana to watch Grey Gardens the musical. It was really good. Months ago Cory and I watched the documentary about it.

Here I am with the 10 year old Erin Davie who is one of the stars of the show. She was amazing to watch because she is so young, yet so good.

Aimee and the famous "office in his car guy."

The Mermaid Parade at Coney Island last Saturday.

The Wonder Wheel turned 80 this year.l.

Cool looking kids roller coaster.

Teacups cups with the Cyclone in the background.

Jetskis in the East River made me think of my brothers! New York really does have everything.

The Manhattan bridge. Can you find the Empire State Building?

A place Lyle (my all-time favorite chef) might like.

The Wonder Wheel again.

bloggin' away

Amy Bray is in town! She is in New York for a vacation along with her mom and grandma.
This is the most pictures in one blog. I have been slacking on my blogging so I had to get caught up. This first picture goes out to my little niece in Lemoore.
A close up on the message in case you missed it. "I do love you Callie and I can't wait to see you!"
Last weekend Cory and I celebrated our first year anniversary. Here we are in Prospect Park going home after a long day.
Dinner time! Salad, burritos, apples, and strawberry wine. I eat a salad almost everday fresh from my garden.
Prospect Heights brownstones.
We love so many of the houses but this is one of our favorites. We love the way the bold door looks with the potted plants.
Ozzies is the best coffee shop in Park Slope where are friends work.
Check out the sky! This is the street corner by our house.
Here are 75% of the students at my school. We went to the MET a few fridays ago.

80% of the teachers that I work with.
The love birds overlooking the Manhattan skyline.
We love you Grandma Lois!
Cory found this great vintage dress at Salvation Army. It just needs a little love and then it will be ready to party!
My French buddies Clem and Anna. Clem worked at Ozzies (until last Sunday) and she made me my first ever cappuccino.

Well, that sums up the last few weeks not including this weekend. Until next time...

Orphan Annie

Here is a picture of my husband of one year. I can't believe that our wedding anniversary is tomorrow (June 17th).
Cory and I helped my pouring wine for all of the guests.
Joe, Corydon, and Will had another benefit to raise money for the documentary on the Witch Orpans of Angola. They sold photo that they took in Africa. They looked amazing.

Have you seen my video?

I have had this film of me on my video's in myspace but I just realized that it is really easy to post it on the blog. Cory edited this for me. He was also on the show but he didn't get the camera time like I did. Famous Annie

Hanford in the summer time would not be complete without Sunday night hockey. This blog is in response to Alex's blog about missing hocky. Alex, we miss it too!

Playing House

We have been searching high and low for a new couch. We tried to buy one new, used of craigslist, free from craigslist, but the streets provided tonight. The frame that was next to the cushion was broken but the cushion was perfect. We found the new perfect frame two blocks away from the cushion.
We had to get creative went carrying the couch home. We felt very silly but it worked!
Our backyard garden is growing strong. Everyday we see a difference. Cory took this fun picture of the collard greens this morning.
Saturday was my last day at the juice bar. I was sad but it was time for me to move on. Pictured from left to right would be Kristy, Tope, Me, and Josh.
My biggest suprise of a lifetime came when I arrived home from work to a brand new temperpedic full size mattress. I have been sleeping on heaven! I have wanted one for so long but never thought I would get one, but Cory (the best husband ever) bought me one. It helped that a mattress store went out of business. Thank you to all of the customers who bought mattresses from Sleepy's instead of Rockaway bedding! It is like sleeping on marshmellows. It was also weird sleeping next to Cory without touching him. It is huge compared to our twin bed. Marvin calls it our grown up bed.
