Say Hi to Bee Bruce

Bee Bruce
had her first picture taken yesterday!
I had the sonogram and we found out that we are having a girl! The doctor said that everything looks great! It was amazing seeing the baby moving around. What you are looking at is a zoomed in picture of her face and her fist. I even got to count all 10 fingers! I have a baby girl inside of me!
Proud Parents-to-Bee!

Memorial Day Weekend 2008

Boy or Girl?????????
The ultra sound is on Tuesday!
What do you think its going to be?
I am 5 months pregnant this weekend and also this weekend is the 125th Anniversary of the Brooklyn Bridge.
To celebrate there have are lots of events in the park underneath the bridge. The bridge in this picture is the Manhattan bridge.

They set up a free "putt putt." All six holes are landmarks in Brooklyn.
For the first three holes Cory and I were head to head...
This put me behind a stroke.
If I had gotten a hole in one in the last hole (Brooklyn Bridge) I would have tied, which would have felt like a win for me!
I lost!

13 to 15
The pictures you have just seen were taken today (Sunday), and the following pictures were taken yesterday (Saturday).

Babycakes is a vegan bakery which I have known about for a long time but never went too...until Saturday when Cory and I walked by it on the way to the concert.
I got a chocolate vegan spelt cupcake!
Matt, my co-worker gave us tickets to the "Islands," as he could not use them because he had to go to a wedding. The concert was a lot of fun. We didn't know it at the time but we were sitting in the VIP section. We found out when they wouldn't let Cory back in after he went to the bathroom. After some convincing, he made it back!
Lots of buildings in Manhattan!

What's been going on?

Happy Belated Mothers Day!
This picture was taken minutes ago. Cory thought I looked kinda of funny. I was just being practical. I was going back and forth from home and the laundry mat.Last weekend. We planted our vegetable garden. I will still be planting tomato plants too!It is amazing how fast plants can grow in just one week. All of the rain really helps. in of closest bed (bottom left) the seeds are already sprouting. Also, we added one more raised bed yesterday. I now have lots of vegetables growing including: chives, broccoli, swiss chard, yellow squash, zucchini, basil, parsley, cilantro, radishes, rosemary, 3 types of mint, dill, and lemon thyme.

There is a lot of green in this picture! The park is amazing!

Joel and his girlfriend, Kira came and stayed with us last weekend. They both live and go to school in Rochester, NY. Also pictured is Kira's friend who lives in Manhattan. We ate at Bonnie's Grill in Park Slope for our Mother's Day meal. They have the best burgers. This is what we have heard. However, when four vegi-eaters go into a place like this we have to get the vegi burgers of course! The meaty burgers did look really good.

We took a stroll through Prospect Park after lunch.Pretty view!

Wow, what's going on inside of my belly? I am at about 4 1/1 months in this picture.Cory loves his hammock. He has been working really hard in our backyard. I will have to take more pictures later.
A couple of weeks ago, my school had there annual bennefit dinner at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Manhattan. This year was extra special because they are celebrating the 70th year of the organization which was started by this man...Tony Duke. Also, of Duke university. He is a really neat man!
The hotel is amazing. If you want to come and visit I recommend this hotel if you have a few extra pennies to spare.

The dessert may not look like much but it was amazing. Basically it is ice cream with toasted meringue on the outside.

Pictured below are 3 out of the 5 teachers that I work with. Ed, Matt, and Tim. We all get along nicely.
Waheeda (school secretary/administrator) and I are making a Chevy Chase sandwich. He was one of the speakers at the benefit which was hosted by Stone Phillips. I can also point out that Waheeda is wearing a $14,000 diamond Tiffany bracelet on her right wrist. It was one of the items that was auctioned off.
Hans Hageman is the school director (my boss)!
A group of students also attended. The students painted pictures that were sold in a silent auction to help raise money for Aids in Africa.
The Grand Ballroom before everyone entered.
Some of my girl students!
Artwork done by two of the girls pictured above and my growing belly bump.
