Bee has been up to a lot of things here in Brooklyn. She is getting her back molars in! The first one has made it to the surface. Ouch! She is having a little trouble teething! Something else not so fun is that Bee, Cory and I were all sick! First Bee, then me, then Cory! I won't go into the details but it wasn't pretty. Here is my attempt at getting caught up with my blogging.

Happy Thanksgiving! We are so thankful for God's many blessings in our life.

This post is dedicated to our family in Philadephia. Sorry it took me 42 Thousand weeks to get it posted.

We took the China Town Bus ($20 roundtrip tickets) to Philadelphia to visit baby Max, Hallie, Jon and Aunt Deb! Aunt Deb and my mom are cousins and they were great friends! It was so wonderful to hang out with them. Deb was visiting her grandson Max. Hallie and Jon have done an amazing job fixing up a row house. It was beatiful. We got to be the first ones to stay in the newly finished 3rd story guest room! I have a lot in common with Hallie. Including our favorite flower (dalhias). Hallie's front yard is full of them!

They took us on a walk along the river. It was beautiful!

We had to go see the Liberty Bell. It was my favorite! I sure wish my mom could have been with us. She would have loved it!

It's Fall Time In Brooklyn! I love the crisp air and the beautiful trees! Sunday after church we met Clem and Ryan in Prospect Park. Did you know that Bee can disco?

Monday was the nicest weather we might have for the rest of the year, so we took the subway to spend the day in Central Park. We explored a few of the playgrounds (there are 21 in Central Park).

This is it! My last year as a twenty year old. I better make it good!!!

Yesterday I had some friends over for a cupcake playdate! We all ate cupcakes and played with our kids! Fun was had!

It was funny because all of the babies were crowded into one corner of the room at the same time (The secret: Bryant was handing out snacks!).

Amy brought me 3 packs of her kale chips!!! I love them! She now sells them in health food stores around the city!

I liked getting ot make a pretty table with yummy things to eat on it!

All of the desserts came from Lily and Fig Bakery except for the baby friendly cupcakes that Bryna made! We had 6 kinds of cupcakes (baby friendly, chocolate, red velvet, vanilla, coconut and lemon meringue).

They are such little girls now! They like to walk everywhere!

Thanks to all that helped to make this a special day for me!

I do have more CA pictures but I wanted to take a break from that to get caught up with more current information! Bee has been learning new things each day! A few highlights...she can stack blocks, she likes to feed me and herself with a spoon, and she signs new words almost every day (book is her latest).

The morning after we got back to Brooklyn we met Gaia and Amy at the children's musuem (thanks Shelley and Grandma Peggy for the membership). Bee missed her BFF Gaia!

Amy and I took the girls down 7th ave in Park Slope for some trick or treating. The streats were so crowed. Here we are trick or treating at Corcoran! Cory thinks of the town we know in CA called Corcorn and it makes us laugh because the Corcoran in Brooklyn is a fancy realty business with a motto "Live Who You Are."

Lots of superheros were out patrolling the streets!

This was one of my favorites. A little trash man complete with an awesome homemade garbage truck complete with working lights. The mom (the trash) was a friend of Amy's.

I received a fun surprise this week! A birthday present from Lyle and Marlene! Two fun cookbooks and homemade cookies!!! Thank you so much!!!
We traveled to Manhattan on Tuesday to enjoy the nice fall weather! We took the train to Canal street and had fun walking around Chinatown. This street vendor had the best selection of green vegetables!

Bubble tea for me! At a store in china town I bought my own bubbles (tapioca balls) and made my own Bubble (boba) tonight! Our friend Dennis wanted to open up a boba shop! I hope he does someday!

We ate Himalayan food for the first time and it is now my new favorite!

Butter Lane is a new cupcake place in Manhattan. We just had to go! We love our cupcakes!
They have three different types of cake and about 18 types of icings to choose from! That's 54 different cupcakes to choose from! I had a hard time but decided on my usual, chocolate with chocolate to be able to rate the cupcake fairly with others. I would give the frosting a 10 but a 6 for the cake. Instead of spending $3 on a cupcake, next time I will get the shot of frosting for $1. The frosting is my favorite part anyways!

Gaia came over to play! Bee loves Gaia! She wouldn't let Gaia leave her side for the first ten minutes! It's fun to watch them start to really enjoy each other!

Bee loves cats so much! She is really good at spotting anything that resembles a cat. She will say "yaya" (her version of cat) and I won't know what she is talking about until after a minute of looking I too find a cat. This happened in the store and there was a little ceramic cat sitting on a shelf.
Bee loves her Jellycat! We do too! The brand Jellycat makes really good quality stuffed animals that are safe for little ones and look good too!
My new secretary desk from Ikea! We bought it off craigslist and it is just what I needed. I used some birthday money to buy it! My goal is to have only my laptop and sewingmachine in the desk (not my usual clutter). Even though with a desk like this you just close the top and the clutter disappears! Cory is the sweetest husband. He wheeled this desk home from downtown Brooklyn to our hose (2.4 miles). Who needs a "man with a van" when you have a "husband with a furniture mover!" Thanks Cory!

CA Part 5: Bee's First Birthday Party

Bee had a fun first birthday party! Thanks to all who came! Here are a few pictures! I will try to caption as best as I can. I will not be putting Cory, Annie or Bee next to the pictures. But I will tell you that we are Lions. I bought Cory's costume from a stoop sale this summer from a women who made it for the theatre ($2) and I bought the extra fabric ($1) and made the other two costumes while I was in Hanford. I thought Bee would have lasted 5 minutes in her costume but she didn't even notice!

CA Part 4: Cristina and Jessica Visit Hanford

Jessica and Cristina drove down from LA to come to Bee's First Birthday Party. The arrived on Friday night and had just enough time to give them a tour of the old downtown Hanford!

We started at the Fox Theatre.

Superior Dairy was closing when we arrived. Bummer!

The Bastille! Cory was informing them of the scary stories about this place!

The Court House. Which is not used as a court house any longer. Now different business operate out of this cool old building.

The Carnegie Museum. I learned that one of the things on display is a dress that was made for Amelia Earhart because her friend lived in Hanford and Amelia used to come and visit her! But the dress that was made for her was never picked up because she disappeared before she had a chance to get it. I think while I took this picture Cory was reenacting a scene from one of the movies he made.

Brown Shoes has been in Hanford for a very long time!!! We were looking at the Danskos in the window.

The old Phone Booth in the Opera House. People came from all over to visit the Hanford Opera House. Now the building is apartments.

California Living

We are having a fantastic time in CA visiting family and friends.

The travel day to CA was not easy! The flight on Virgin Airlines was nice but 6 hours in an airplane is tough for anyone! Bee and Cory did got a lot of practice walking in the airport and on the flight!
I was so glad to get to SF! My dad and Jill picked us up for the car ride home. The car ride was nice because I was with my family but Bee and I had a tough time (She couldn't sleep and I could't keep my food down).

Bee is almost one! Her birthday is October 13th but we are having her party on Saturday the 17th in the afteroon! It is a animal costume party. I hope you all can come and get dressed up too! Email me for directions and more information. In a perfect world I would be printing the invitaions and emailing them out but it is not going to happen. Please spread the word to those that won't see it on the internet.

side note: We have been gearing up for our California trip by trying to shift Bee's night time sleep to CA time but it might not happen. So, let me know if anyone is an early morning person because we will want to play! I will need to explore the Hanford/Lemore parks too if anyone can join us! It is really going to be 80 degress in October! I need to pack shorts and tank tops??? Do people swim in October in Hanford? Wow! I am really looking forward to our trip! Please pray for our safety and health as we travel because we always seem to get sick when we get to town. No fun.

Hallie and Jon came to visit us in Brooklyn last Saturday. Hallie is my second cousin (my mom's cousins daughter) and Jon is her husband. Jon works for Amtrack so it is a nice ride to New York on the train for them! Hallie is due with their first baby (the gender will be a surprise) on November 4th and she is a high school French teacher! We have a lot in common and it was fun to talk with her about her upcoming pregnancy because one year ago I was in her same situation! Hallie and Jon have never spent time in Brooklyn so we took them around to see some of our favorite places! It was fun!

We thought it was a wedding but it turns out it is just the fanciest birthday celebration! A sweet sixteen!

This might need an explanation! We were walking down a brownstone lined street in Park Slope when we came across a sweet old lady having a stoop sale of the best kind...a free sale! She was giving away all the unwanted kid things she had in her house! We got a "daddle!" It is a daddle saddle for horseback rides! We went to Prospect Park to relax and we had to try it! Bee loved it! I wouldn't spend $55 on it but for free we can't resist!
Bee is now a Philly's fan! I am so thankful to have gotten to spend time with Hallie and Jon! It was my first time meeting Jon and Hallie and I haven't seen each other since we were little! We are going to go visit them in Philadelphia after the baby is born! I am excited for her! I can't believe it has been one year since Bee was born. In a way it went really quickly but it also seemed like the hardest and longest year ever! Do mommies ever really get caught up on sleep?

Yesterday was Bee's 11 month birthday! Both her and Gaia took their first unassisted steps! Bee's step was literally a baby step! Pretty soon I won't be able to keep up with her!
It was also my mom's birthday! Happy Birthday Mom! I miss you but I will see you in Heaven!

Labor Day Weekend

Happy Belated Labor Day! I hope everyone had a nice weekend! I can't help but think of childbirth labor when I hear "Labor Day." But pretty much any kind of labor is not easy!
We went to a Labor Day BBQ at Amy's mom's house.

On Labor Day, the annual "West Indian Day Parade" took place on Eastern Parkway. They were expecting 3 million people this year! I decided to not attend (I was warned not to bother going because once you get in the middle of all those people it is hard to get out) so I took a picture from afar!

We put the wheelbarrow in the door way to try and block Bee from crawling to the kitchen it didn't stop her. When I wasn't looking she climbed in by herself!

Shop Til' You Drop

Bee and I stopped in at Lily and Fig's bakeshop for a treat! Karen, Bee, Lily, and the blackforest cake Karen had just finished! It was really yummy!Bee got to go shopping at the health food store!

Amy and Joe (Gaia's parents) owns a local health food store! Amy's mom bought her a really cool shopping cart! The girls are going to have lots of fun here! Thanks Gaia for sharing your store with Bee!

Gaia usually is the only baby shopping in the store but she enjoyed Bee's help!

The girls had so much fun taking things off the shelves! It was entertaining to watch them have so much fun! Bee did not want to leave!

We went into a kids shop and Bee and I fell in love with the stuffed animals. Jellycat is the brand of animals that we liked! I couldn't decide which one to get her so I didn't buy anything!

We hung out at Michelle's house today. Amy and Bryna discovered that Michelle was a mutual friend of theirs last week, so we all got together to have the babies play!

Bee and Gaia met at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden this afternoon for some fun!

They had a lot of fun crawling around, looking at the fountain, eating snacks, standing by themselves, and playing with leaves and bark!

Cristina, Will, Joe, Annie and Lauryn. Cristina, Will and Joe are moving to the West Coast so we had a good bye celebration! They left this past Saturday for Oregon. Will and Joe will be performing in a play there. It is really cool because it the play that Joe wrote!

Happy Birthday to Bryna!
She was born and raised in New York but she had never been to Magnolia's Bakery in Manhattan. So, we took the babies for a trip to the West Village for some treats!Bryna and I trying to take our picture with the cupcakes, but my little cupcake was making it difficult as she was trying to steal our desserts!

Pancake and Ani come to town

Pancake (Chris) and girlfriend Ani came into town late last night. We all spent the afternoon taking a walk in Brooklyn. Pancake is currently living in Virginia (in the Army until November) and Ani who lives in Fresno flew to Virginia for a few days and they drove up to New York to spend 4 days here.
