Big Apple Here We Come!

Grandma Peggy, Shelley and Franky arrived safely last night.

We are off for a day in the Big Apple.
Breakfast at Cafe Shane's.
It is so great to have family around!
After breakfast we took a stroll through the Brooklyn Botanical Garden.
It was Grandma's first time on the subway!
Cory went home while the rest of us headed to Manhattan.
Here she goes!
Times Square!
Every Theater person needs to stop off at Sardi's for the show!
We went and show Hairspray!!!

It was a great show! I loved everything about it. No pictures are allowed of course but I had to sneak just one (even if it is awful). The center person (big woman in red dress) is George Wendt ("Norm"). Hairspray is one of my favorite movies too!I know this picture is really bad, but if you look closely you can see why I took it. Chris Rock was at the show with his kids.

Pizza at Lombardi's!!! So yummy. While we were eating there was a thunderstorm going on outside. Fortunately it didn't last long and it cooled down the weather even more.

I had no idea Cannoli's were so good! They are Grandma's favorite!
Little Italy is always fun!

Grandma and I are home now (we are too old and pregnant to be out too late) and Cory went into the city to meet up with Shelley and Franky for a goold old time!

June is Fun

New Pictures of BEE!
I had a 4D ultra sound last week. It was really cool seeing the image go from 2D to 4D with a click of a button. Bee however, was too busy to get clear shots. She had everything she could in front of her face. She was sucking on her umbilical cord! The technician was unable to get clear pictures but I still love looking at these pictures!2D profile picture!!!
High 5 Bee!
You can see a blurry image of the side of her face. Her mouth is open because she is practicing sucking!
June 13th my school kids took a trip to the Brooklyn Botanical Garden and the Brooklyn Museum.
The rose garden is in full bloom.
The Japanese pond.
I like the Bonzai trees.
I ran into Chevy Chase roses.
I did "stop and smell the roses!"
This past Sunday Cory and I rode our bikes to Governor's Island.

One of the old houses you are able to go into and look around!Everything on the Island has been abandoned. The Island is an old military base.

Cory in his favorite tree!
On the Island are a row of beautiful old yellow houses.

Last week Dennis was in town for a couple of days. Him and Joe left for a two month stay in Portugal!
Joe and Jessica were celebrating the adventures ahead of them at our new local "Franklin Park" bar. Joe was leaving for Portugal and Jessica was leaving the next day for two weeks in Israel.
Today I went to the New York Aquarium at Coney Island with my school students.
Can you find Nemo?
Cool!
Where are the fishies?

After the aquarium one of the students wanted to ride the historic Cyclone!
Tomorrow is the last day of the 4th quarter. July 7th summer session starts.
California otter!!! I haven't seen one of these since I was in Monterey.
Seal tank!
Croc!

Okay, that's the picture update. Shelley, Grandma Peggy and Franky arrive tomorrow night!!!

Polo and Teddy Roosevelt

On Saturday we found out about a free polo match with Veuve Clicquot on Governors Island. So, we got ready and hopped on the subway. We got there on time but we couldn't even get on the Ferry Ride to Governors Island because they canceled everything due to the weather.
This was to be the first polo match played in NYC in 70 years and our first. We were excited.

We decided to walk back to Brooklyn over the Brooklyn Bridge which is always fun to do!
Today, my school took a trip into Long Island to visit "Old Westbury College" and then take a tour of Theodore Roosevelts old house and museum. His house was amazing! We were not allowed to take pictures inside, but I have never seen so many animal skins, head, and objects made with animal parts.
This was Teddy Juniors House that is now a museum.
Behind Teddy Junior's house is a nature trail leading to Oyster Bay. The students enjoyed this alot!
Me and my pregnant body,
Here are some of the students that were on the trip.
How cool are they?
"Old Westburys" swimming pool. The students enjoyed the campus tour and some of them even said that this is where they want to go now!

It was a good day of work! I had never been to Long Island before today. It was lovely.
